Bühne is inspired by the roman­tic cul­tur­al move­ment that emerged in the midst of the indus­tri­al rev­o­lu­tion. In a world that was becom­ing increas­ing­ly urban­ized and more mechan­i­cal, the nine­teenth-cen­tu­ry artists often sought refuge in nature. Two cen­turies lat­er, I wit­ness a sim­i­lar drift. Facing a soci­ety where tech­no­log­i­cal and dig­i­tal progress are the flag­ships, a desire for some­thing that tran­scends the indi­vid­ual impos­es itself. Bühne shows man search­ing for its ori­gin, nature as an inter­mez­zo in the busy acts of life, her vista a stage. Man as spec­ta­tor of the spec­ta­cle, that should enter­tain and move him in his urge for what seems to be lost.
